For more than 20 years, Nichole Sims has worked at the intersection of people, careers, talent acquisition, and leadership development.
As a recruiting consultant, career coach, trainer, professor, and former corporate talent acquisition leader, Nichole has experienced the workplace from multiple perspectives — the organization searching for the right people, the manager responsible for developing them, and the individual trying to determine where they belong.
That experience shaped the philosophy behind Bold Career Consulting:
Put the right people in the right seats, give them the tools to grow, and everyone has the opportunity to succeed.
Nichole understands what it feels like to know you are capable of more without knowing exactly where that potential belongs.
As a high school student, she was fascinated by the advertising world she saw portrayed on Who’s the Boss? and imagined herself building a career in marketing. But uncertainty and a lack of confidence caused her to second-guess that direction before she ever reached college.
The result was an undecided major, an unsuccessful detour into chemical engineering, and a college journey that took considerably longer than planned.
Eventually, she found the work that fit.
Talent acquisition gave Nichole the opportunity to recognize people’s strengths, connect them with opportunities where they could thrive, and help organizations make better decisions about the people they brought onto their teams.
What began as a career became a calling.
Throughout her career in talent acquisition, Nichole worked with leaders from middle management through the C-suite, helping organizations identify talent, improve hiring decisions, and develop stronger teams.
Her additional experience as an adjunct professor gave her the opportunity to work with individuals who were still discovering their skills, strengths, and professional direction.
The two experiences reinforced the same lesson:
Clarity changes what happens next.
For an individual, that may mean understanding the career path that best fits their strengths and goals.
For an organization, it may mean identifying the talent it needs, improving how leaders hire and develop employees, or creating greater accountability within the team.
Nichole’s work begins by understanding where you are, identifying what is getting in the way, and developing a strategy for moving forward.
Nichole believes meaningful development requires more than delivering information in a room and hoping something changes afterward.
Her approach combines discovery, strategy, practical application, follow-up, and accountability so individuals and organizations can move from understanding a concept to actually applying it.
Whether she is coaching an individual through a career transition, helping an organization strengthen its recruiting process, or developing emerging and existing leaders, the goal is the same:
Create progress that continues after the conversation or training session ends.
Nichole brings nearly three decades of corporate experience and more than 20 years of talent acquisition and recruiting expertise to her work.
Her experience includes:
She has trained professionals from middle management through executive leadership and has served as a mentor and facilitator with the Black Career Women’s Network.
Her speaking and facilitation experience has included organizations and programs such as Black Career Women’s Network, GenNow, Women’s Empowerment Day, and Sharpen Your Skills Workshop.
